introduction

The Java applet is designed chiefly to provide "live" XPS spectrum display for web pages - "live" here means having full access to all the information content of the original data using a spectrum plot capable of being interactively examined in detail, including resizing, ("zooming"), reversing, expanding and contracting.

As a "bonus", the applet provides a means of (data system) computer platform independent and instrument independent spectrum plotting and information exchange.
