"XI SPECSTARTER" Kit
(includes each of the following)

  • One l00 MB Iomega Zip removable hard disk drive (SCSI-2 type or parallel port) and one Zip disk pre-loaded with 1,000 "Characterised Materials" spectra (user may choose any 1,000 spectra from any directory)
  • XI Spectral Data Processor Software (v. 1.5) pre-loaded.
  • XI Laser Printer-Plotter driver software pre-loaded (for use with HP-GL compatible printers only)
  • XI Software Operation Manual (v. 1.1)
  • XI Catalogue of Data-Base Contents (Full version)
  • Installation instructions

 

Note: In addition to suitable basic hardware, the user needs to supply a serial cable for use with "COM2" port or (for parallel port Zip disk version) to supply a second parallel port and a parallel cable to set up "LPT2" for communication with the laser printer in Windows mode. SCSI version requires 100% ASPI compatible SCSI adapter (not supplied) which requires one 16-bit ISA slot for PC 486s and compatibles, or a PCMCIA/SCSI adapter for appropriately equipped notebook systems.

 

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
  • Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet 5L laser printer.
  • Zip Zoom SCSI card
  • Zip PCMCAI to SCSI adapter
